Last year, I was honored to be named the winner of the first nationwide search for "America's Top Personal Trainer to Watch," a contest put on by Life Fitness (a global leader in commercial fitness equipment) and the American Council on Exercise (the non-profit education and certification group). But now it's time to crown a new trainer with the title! Could it be you—or a trainer you know? This year, the contest has gone global, accepting nominations for trainers all over the world, and along with the contest sponsors, Life Fitness and PTontheNet (a world-renowned educational resource for fitness professionals), I'm happy to be serving as a judge in this year's competition. Along with four other judges, we'll be looking for not just credentialed and experienced trainers who deliver great workouts to their clients—but professionals who truly embody health and fitness, promoting it throughout their communities as well. Nominations are ending soon: July 31, to be exact. Find out what the winner will get—and how you can nominate your favorite trainer for the honor. Participants across the globe have until July 31 to visit www.LifeFitness.com/PersonalTrainers and nominate a personal trainer deserving of the top prize: $5,000 toward a personal training business; a select piece of Life Fitness equipment; a one-year membership and continuing education course package from world-renowned educational resource PTontheNet. Winners will be announced globally in November 2012. “We encourage people to continue recognizing and supporting the personal trainers they see taking strides toward a healthier world by nominating a trainer today,” says Chris Clawson, president of Life Fitness. If you know a trainer worthy of this amazing accolade, I encourage you to nominate him or her for the award. The application should only take you a few minutes. This is such a great way to honor the fitness professionals who work so hard to help their clients get fit and healthy. Have you ever worked with a truly amazing personal trainer? What made him or her so great? Will you nominate someone for the award? |
