PandaExpress-Steamed Rice

It's the better "bad" choice. Although stripped of the fiber it's still better than stir frying the white rice in a sea of oil or doing the same to noodle made with white flour (stir fry).

Like any fast casual dining option, you can end up with a healthy meal or a very unhealthy one. It all depends on your menu choices. For example, choosing orange chicken, which is completely battered is definitely not as healthy as the black pepper chicken, which is stir fried (not deep fried). Also, the sauce has high sodium content. The key is not to overdue and to eat the items without consuming all the sauce. There's definitely healthy options and you can actually have a healthy meal at Panda Express.

Panda Express can actually be really good if you get the steamed veggies instead of rice or chow mein, and stay away from the deep-fried entrees. The veggies are only 70 calories. I usually get veggies with Shanghai steak and one of the chicken dishes, and it comes out under 500 calories. They will also do 50/50 on the side item if you still want some rice or noodles instead of straight veggies.

The peppered chicken with vegetable bowl is only 270 calories and is filling and delicious. If you haven't been there in awhile like me, I was surprised to find several entrees under 250 calories. YUM!!!!
